VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITIONS
The School of Psychology at the University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for two full-time, 9 month, Visiting Assistant Professor positions beginning August 2018.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Psychology which is home to 125 graduate students enrolled in APA-accredited doctoral programs in Clinical, School & Counseling Psychology, an MPCAC accredited Counseling Psychology MS program, and a MS program in Applied Behavior Analysis, and 600 undergraduate psychology majors. Primary responsibilities will include teaching a combination of 4 classes each semester and academic advisement. Both positions will involve undergraduate courses in applied areas such as multicultural counseling, helping skills, and counseling theories. Graduate level courses include practicum supervision in our in-house training clinic and a graduate level multicultural counseling course.
This is an ideal position for a post-doc interested in obtaining more extensive experience in graduate clinical training and research mentorship and for individuals preparing for a career in academia or practice that involves professional training/supervision at the graduate level. Opportunities to obtain post-doctoral supervision towards licensure (which includes mentorship, professional development) and/or to conduct and collaborate on research are available.
Qualifications include: a doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program in clinical or counseling psychology, or related field, by August of 2018 and strong teaching and supervisory skills.
